Why Kill Bill? The tough ascent to Oyster Dome originally was referred to as Kill Bill Hill, not only a reference to its unforgiving nasty climb, but also tribute to a local ultra runner Bill Ball who used the rocky, root layered climb as a course route for Mt. Blanchard Ultra. So as a tribute to Kill Bill we are resurrecting Kill Bill Hill with a few twists. Come join us and charge up the British Army Trail as if you’re a soldier, so make it count and look good. Transverse Alternate Incline Trail with it’s solid vertical and sweet canopy covered single track. Explore Blanchard Mountain trails as you transverse the mountainside to Samish Bay, pushing up Kill Bill Hill, stopping at Oyster Dome. Down a freshly shucked oyster (it’s almost mandatory). See the sea and taste gems of the sound, all at the top of Oyster Dome. Because let’s face it, oysters are way better than GU. Will give you a shot of water to chase it down. Carry your oyster shell to the finish. We have a NO TRACE ethic!
Parking

We strongly encourage carpooling. Parking is extremely limited, and a Discover Pass is required. Should you require a Discover Pass, you can purchase one online (please allow a few weeks for delivery) or at various retailers throughout Washington.
Please note that the upper parking area is a little under a mile from the race start area, so allow yourself enough time to make the trek down, check in, and prepare yourself for the race.
At the parking lots, we will have attendants directing people when they’re parking in an attempt to maximize the space. Bring the smallest vehicle you own (say a Civic instead of a F350 or Suburban) in an attempt to help us maximize parking. This is one of the first times a permit has been allowed in this area due to parking issues. With your help we can continue to provide a race on these amazing trails. You may be asked to park closer to a vehicle than you are normally comfortable with, please keep that in mind.
There is a Park and Ride directly off of I-5 at the Alger exit. The lot is free, safe, and roughly 2 miles from the trailhead.

Drop Bags

We will provide an area near the start where participants can drop off their clothing and other items for after the race. Please put your clothes and personal gear in a bag with your name and bib number on it so we can find it after the race, or if you are running the 50k we can retrieve it and you can resupply. We will not deliver drop bags to aid stations. For the 50k runners this drop bag section will be your only chance to refuel with your own supplies.

Refund Policy

For most of our races we do not offer refunds or bib transfers. We do allow participants to defer their entry to next year, or their fee towards another of our events as long as we are contacted before the event starts.
In the event we have to change the date of our event, we will offer refunds* until the originally scheduled event date, or 7 days after we’ve notified participants, whichever is later. After this time we will only offer a deferral until the newly scheduled date.
Should we have to cancel an event ouright, we will offer a refund* or an entry in next year’s event.
*If possible we will get Databar/UltraSignup to refund to the payment method used, if not we will send a check for the amount paid minus the fee Databar/UltraSignup charges.
More

Check out what Kill Bill is up to these days. Last we talked he had just returned from Burning Man, where he was doing “Marathon Painting”. Go figure, once an endurance junkie, always a junkie.
This is a timelapse of him painting.
